yesterday i did 3 hours at splash point in the afternoon. 2 poms and a trickle of the usual stuff was disappointing given the southeast wind. went back this morning for 3 hours in the rain and had 1 pom and 3 black terns. down the cuckmere there was a nice collection of waders with 33 barwits, 30 dunlins, 2 greenshanks, 1 sanderling and 1 knot.

was gonna drop in at splash point in the afternoon on my way home but every parking space was taken right down to the buckle. crazy. did a couple of hours off newhaven stony beach in the evening producing 7 poms (flock of 5) and a red-necked grebe with a steady trickle of stuff to keep me from cracking. calling whimbrel and barwits flying along the shore on a calm sunny evening is what it's all about:-). tomorrow could be the pom day...

had a look at the sea off the stony beach this morning. nice to actually see some birds on the go. heavy passage of commics, and year ticks in the form of 1 pom, 1 black tern, 15 little terns and some swifts. on 1st  i watched off splash point and had a couple of year ticks - 3 manx and 2 eider. now i am going back to work  the forecast looks good for the next few days.
